I’ve tried many weight loss or health programs in the past, why will this work?

This will work because we support you across three pillars: Your training, your nutrition and your mindset. Your previous failures are likely because one of these elements was not in place previously.

You will be doing world-class training sessions 4 to 5 days a week, either at home or at gym or running. You will do these training sessions in your own time, whenever it works for you. The programs have been designed by world-class Sports Conditioning Coach Johno Meintjies. They are science-based and will build up, one day at time, to make you stronger and build fitness.

Our nutrition plan is simple to follow, and enjoyable. It has simple ingredients, with easy portion control perfect for you and delicious meal plans. And yes, we do cater for vegans and vegetarians! 🙂

And they work, because we pair you up with an exceptional JEFF coach who will keep you on track, every single day. They get you in the right mindset and coach you through your behavior change. They work with you, help you set goals and support you every step of the way.

What equipment do I need?

Nothing at all. We have a home-based program that you can do at home, with no equipment. If you have access to a gym, and would prefer that, we can support you with that as well. Or if you prefer to run, that is OK too.

It does help if you have a watch that tracks heart rate and calories, so that you can monitor your effort levels, but this is not essential.

I already have a personal trainer that I’d like to continue working with

Our programs are successful when we work with you holistically, on your training, nutrition and mindset. If you want to get your results, we need to work with you on all three of these pillars. We cannot do this if you’re working with someone on something else. Simply, we’ll be messing with the science behind how this program works. So, if you want to get started, we’re going to have to convince you to stop working with your trainer and commit to your JEFF coach.

I love my cycling and pilates, can I still work with you?

We have three core program types: At-home, At-gym, and running. We don’t specifically cater for cycling, or pilates, or other types of training so unless it is gentle active recovery, you will need to pause this alternative for the time-being. Rest assured, in our programs, you will work as hard as you can, for your ability.

As a result, we have found that our cycling enthusiasts who have worked with us for a few months, have had incredible results when they have returned to regular cycling training. You will be leaner and in much better shape with stronger core strength.

I am pre- or post- menopausal, am I too old?

You are never too old to focus on your health. We work with everyone. At your initial assessment with your coach, we ask you a series of questions about your previous injuries. We then give you a plan that is perfect for your abilities. As long as you have no serious injuries, or underlying medical risks, we can work with you.

I am pregnant, do you cover this?

Some of our exceptional coaches are mums, and they get the challenges of this time. You’re worried about both your developing baby's health, and your own health, and probably spend too much time googling things. We will work with you during this time, in unison with your medical team to keep you exercising to the levels you are comfortable and eating appropriately. Many of our clients have worked with us up until their 3rd trimester.

What do I do if I have an injury or get sick?

If you are feeling sick or get injured it is best to rest until your body heals. For more information please contact your doctor.

How does the monthly subscription payment work?

When you sign up, you set up a monthly subscription of R 1,950. The billing is handled by a secure payment gateway. Each month, on the same day of the month as the day that you signed up, this amount is debited from your card. Please note, as JEFF, we do not keep your card details, this is all handled via Payfast and either Visa or Mastercard.

If you’d prefer to pay for 6 months up front via an EFT, we can also arrange this. If so, please submit your details here and our connect team will set this up.

How do I stop my monthly subscription?

Simply email and we will stop the monthly subscription. Please try to give us 7 days’ notice before your next payment is due to avoid us having to process a refund.

How does the new program differ to the previous set up?

Our previous programs were fixed length programs that had training progress over 7, 10 and 14 weeks. Our new JEFF 1-on-1 Program is a monthly subscription program. It has exactly the same results to that of the previous program but with all sorts of added features, including an improved nutrition plan and an app to see your training.

Can I choose my coach?

All of our coaches are truly wonderful people and experts in this field. However, you may have preferences to work with someone with specific expertise in post-partum, or nutrition, or strength training. You may also have specific preferences with regards to gender. Chat to our connect team about these preferences and we will do our utmost to assist.

What is an assessment and what will I need?

We do assessments every 4 weeks. These are not scary! They are 20 minute WhatsApp video conversations where you and your coach connect and review your results and set goals for the next 4 weeks. In order to prepare for these assessments, you will need to take your measurements, take photographs and submit your weight to your coach. In the case of the running program, this will include a time trial result. Your coach will then be able to track your progress over time and adjust your program accordingly. You just need a measuring tape, and a scale.

I have been loving doing the live work-outs on JEFF together. Can I continue?

As part of your 1-on-1 coaching program, two mornings a week, you will be doing JEFF Together live classes on facebook. It is a wonderful community and great to be a part of. However, the JEFF Together classes are not specifically designed for you, your goals and where you are in your training.

As a result, it is very important that you follow your own program that you will receive from your coach for the rest of the week. These work-outs are not video workouts, you will see them in your app that we will share with you. They are very simple to follow, with images and explanations, and they build up day by day, week by week.

So, in essence, you get the best of both worlds! You’re part of the community on JEFF Together, but also getting stronger day by day with a plan that is perfect for you.

How do I pay?

Follow the sign up link ( and simply add the monthly subscription to your cart and check out using your credit card. For as long as you’re subscribed to the program, your debit order will go off against your credit card on the same day of the month as your initial payment.

If I am already on the 1-on-1 Program, can I do the live workouts?

Yes! Two days a week, we will encourage you to join the JEFF Together sessions. However, JEFF Together is not personalised for you, and does not build up day by day. So for even better results, we encourage you to complete your 1-on-1 training program for the remainder of your weekly training.

What is JEFF Together?

JEFF Together is a community of incredible people united in their passion for health and fitness. It is an incredibly supportive and connected community and it will change your life!

Each day, JEFF hosts a free 30-minute live workouts on the JEFF Together Facebook group at 8am sharp. Join us 15 minutes before for a coffee and chat as we get ready. The only equipment needed may be simple household items like cans of beans, a chair or a pillow.

How did JEFF Together come about?

JEFF Together was started at the end of March 2020 at the start of the corona virus lockdown in South Africa. Our goal was simply to get people to join us for live workouts in Johno’s home to feel connected and stay fit and healthy.

The positive response from all over the world has been incredible! People are coming together in their thousands to experience the craziness of “real” life and workout with others, while in their homes. We all need this connection during this difficult time.

How do I join JEFF Together? Where do I find the live workouts?

Joining JEFF Together is easy! All you need to do is visit our Facebook page JEFF Together - You will find all the live workouts there.

If you don’t have a Facebook account, we highly recommend you create a very simple one. You don’t have to make it public or to ‘friend’ anyone, but it will allow you to be a part of this incredible community and join in the sessions.

Can I find a workout if I have missed it?

Missed a workout? No problem! Visit our Facebook page and head over to the Topic section. You will find all of our past workouts there.

What times are the workouts?

Live workouts take place at 8am from Monday to Saturday. (Sundays are rest days!)

Is JEFF Together free?

JEFF Together is a community for everyone to join. We have a passion for helping people keep active, and even more so at this time. If you are new to JEFF Together, or just joining every now and then, please do so free of charge.

To get access to the full JEFF experience, become a Member for R200 per month. Join us in over 30 classes a week, all accessible via our JEFF Web App. Plus, get access to our JEFF Members Facebook Group where all classes other than the daily 8am HIIT class takes place.

How do I earn Vitality points when doing a workout?

If you have a fitness watch, you need to set your watch to Cardio at the start of the workout and then at the end, sync your watch as you would in a normal workout. If you don’t have a watch, you can attach your phone to your body to track your steps. Importantly, you need to work as hard as you can and get your average heart rate high enough to earn your points!

How do I link my fitness device to earn points?

Can I earn points with another medical aid eg Momentum ?

Unfortunately not. We have partnered with Vitality. You can only claim your 300 points for workouts that are powered by Vitality. Alternatively, if you are a Vitality member and have a fitness device linked to the Vitality platform, you will receive points for all of your workouts.


What is Legendary Rewards?

Legendary Rewards is our loyalty program and it can be found here. You can earn loyalty points by completing activities on our site and in our community.

How do I earn points?

Create a loyalty program account and earn your first 300 points for signing up. Points will be awarded when you complete activities on our website and in our community.

Which activities earn me points?

You can earn points in many different ways. Here are a few ways you can get started - remember to keep an eye on the Web App for new ways to earn points.

- You earn points on your monthly subscription -1 point earned for every rand spent
- Leave a review - 300 points
- Refer a friend to sign up - 1000 points
- Watch JEFF Stories - 100 points

What is the value of each point?

This depends on the reward you want to redeem, but for the majority of rewards, 10 points is equal to a rand. There are some instances in which points will either be worth more or less.

How do I redeem points?

Points are redeemable against the rewards listed in the Legendary Rewards app. You simply need to log in to your account, click on the reward you want and follow the on-screen prompts to redeem.

How do I earn points when I refer a friend to join JEFF?

If you get your friends to join JEFF , make sure you get rewarded!

In your Legendary Rewards account page - you will see a unique Legendary Rewards URL for sharing. Send this to your friends over Facebook, Email, WhatsApp, or wherever you want. Your friends will get a 10% discount and you will get 1,000 Rewards points for each friend who signs up using that link.

Can I use the JEFF Web App to gift my friends a 10% discount off a new subscription?

Yup! You can gift your friends a 10% discount off a new subscription by simply clicking the ‘Refer a friend for a JEFF subscription’ option under the ‘Earn points’ tab in your JEFF Web App and sharing your unique URL with your friends. Your friends will get a 10% discount and you will get 1,000 Rewards points for each friend who signs up using that link.

I heard I can earn a discount for my 1-on-1 Coaching subscription?

That’s correct! You can earn a discount off your own 1-on-1 subscription by referring friends for either the JEFF Membership or 1-on-1 Coaching Program and using the points you earn.

For an example - to get a 50% discount off your next month’s subscription, earn points from referring 5 friends. To get a 100% discount you need to refer 10 friends and make sure they sign up. Make sure you don't use your points for other rewards.

Once you have earned these points, reach out to us and we’ll make sure the discount is applied on your next payment.

Can I gift my points to someone else to help them pay for a subscription?

Yes you can! You can use your unique URL on your Legendary Awards account page or JEFF Web App to gift a 10% discount to any friends who sign up for the first time. If you have any questions about gifting points to another existing member - please reach out to us, and we’ll help you out.

Do points expire?

Points currently expire after 12 months, but this may change at JEFF Fitness’ discretion.
